Do you wish you could go back to a time when you weren’t dealing with tooth loss? What if we told you that we could help make that happen? Dental implants for missing teeth are the strongest, most attractive, and most durable restoration for missing teeth. At Acton Dental Associates we’ve been rebuilding smiles for years with the help of dental implants. If you are truly ready to stop worrying about tooth loss with a restoration that lasts for life, schedule a consultation with us to learn more about implants.
Dental implants are tiny posts that are placed directly into the jawbone where a tooth root used to sit. Once in place, the implant bonds with the jawbone and tissue to create a stable foundation for either a crown, bridge or denture. Dental implants are the closest restoration to natural teeth.
We are here to walk you through the entire dental implant process from consultation all the way to your new smile. While everyone’s tooth replacement journey is different, most treatments can be broken down into these main steps.
The first step in the process is determining if you are a good candidate for dental implants. Our team will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your mouth, discuss your options for tooth replacement, and go over what you can expect out of treatment. It is during this appointment that we may also recommend certain preparatory treatments such as bone grafting to help with the success of your dental implants.
The dental implant surgery itself is a straight-forward outpatient procedure. The implant is placed into the jawbone by making a small incision into the gum tissue. Once in place, the gum tissue is sutured, and healing can begin.
Following the placement of your implants, your mouth will begin the process of healing. During this time, the implant will fuse to the jawbone and soft tissue to become fully integrated. This healing time can last anywhere from three to six months.
Once healing is complete, you will return to the office for abutment placement. These tiny connectors are what allow the implants to support your final restoration. Impressions are then taken and sent to a lab for fabrication of your final crown, bridge, or denture restoration.
Once your restoration is ready, you will return to the office for placement. After the restoration is attached to the abutment, you will leave the office with a fully restored smile that can last a lifetime.
Everyone deserves to have a beautiful, healthy smile. If you have been impacted by tooth loss, dental implants can give you back your smile. To learn more, call Acton Dental Associates today at (978) 881-5826 to book your consultation.Â
